When Anastasia Pike met Gregory Chesnut at the National Naval Medical Center (now Walter Reed National Military Medical Center), it seemed like serendipity: She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross; he was a surgical intern. They decided to head to the Center’s coffee shop together for a brief first date, and both felt an instant connection. “We talked effortlessly—it felt like we were just catching up rather than meeting for the first time,” says Gregory, a urologist at the United States Navy. “Anna had to remind me that I was about to be late to start working in the ER, we had been talking for so long!”
After 15 months of dating, Gregory conspired with family friends to pop the question in time for a Sunday morning picnic on the Elizabeth River. “After a breakfast picnic, Gregory surprised me with a nervous one-kneed question,” says Anastasia, a member of the faculty at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. “We went straight to church afterward, but still had to wait eight months before walking down the aisle!” The wedding ceremony at the United States Naval Academy Chapel was followed by a reception at the Crofton Country Club.

Stop Suffering for Fashion! 7 Easy Tips to Fix and Prevent Handbag and Shoe Pain

If you love high heels and large statement handbags but are worried about your posture, or are even suffering a little discomfort from your fashion choices, you're not alone! According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), lots of people are wearing shoes and purses that are placing strain on their joints and muscles.
"Large purses and briefcases can cause shoulder, neck, elbow, and back pain, and even serious injury," says AAOS spokeswoman Dr. Sara L. Edwards. "Wearing poorly fitting shoes, especially those with high heels, platforms, or pointed toes, can result in bunions, hammer toes, corns, knee, and lower back pain and other conditions. I've seen many women with ACL injuries from wearing wedge sandals and high heels."
Here are seven tips that will help prevent and ease pain and injury from your handbags and your shoes—do you practice sartorial safety?
1. Don't carry more than 10 percent of your body weight in your handbag. That means if you weight 150 pounds, please don't carry any more than 15 pounds around in that gorgeous shoulder bag you scored at the mall last weekend!
2. How to pack: The AAOS recommends placing heavier items lower and more centered in your handbag—to balance out the weight.

3. Sorry, fashion kids—don't carry heavy bags in the crook of your elbow. Doing so can strain your elbow muscles and joints, the AAOS says. Instead, try carrying your bag over your shoulder, switching sides frequently, or find a cross-body bag that works for you.
4. If you walk a lot, limit your heel height. If you're planning on walking a lot or your commute involves going up and down a lot of steps, try not to wear a shoe that has more than a 2.25-inch heel.
5. The best time of day to try on shoes. The AAOS recommends trying on shoes at the end of the day because your feet swell during the day, whether you're standing or sitting.
6. The right-fitting shoes should: Leave a half inch between your longest toe and the end of the shoe, do not pinch or cramp your toes, and allow your toes to wiggle freely.
7. Go for shoes that lace or buckle. Shoes that have laces, buckles, or a strap usually provide more arch support than those without.
Do you practice any of these healthy tips for handbags and shoes? Tell us some of your favorite tips in the comments below!

Miley Cyrus’ Thigh-High Louboutin Boots: Rocker Chic Or Too Revealing?

Miley stepped out in London rocking thigh-high Christian Louboutin boots — do you love or loathe them?

Miley Cyrus has been making headlines for wearing nothing on a wrecking ball in her latest music video — and now she’s taking it to a new extreme. The 20-year-old was spotted on the streets of London wearing a plaid blue shirt, a blue fur jacket and black thigh-high Christian Louboutin boots. Do you think Miley totally rocked this look — or was it way too revealing?

Miley Cyrus’ Thigh-High Louboutin Boots: Rocker Chic Or Too Revealing?

Miley was seen leaving a recording studio in London on Sept. 10 rocking the extravagant get-up. Her sexy sky-high Louboutin boots appeared to have replaced pants, showing off her slim legs. Miley held a Chanel handbag to accessorize the outfit and give it a glamorous touch.
It’s definitely a different look for Miley — especially compared to how we’ve seen her in the “Wrecking Ball” music video.

Miley Cyrus Naked In ‘Wrecking Ball’ Video — Why Is She Nude?

This isn’t Miley’s first time working with Terry Richardson, who shot her nude video.
“Miley has shot with Terry a lot over the years so she’s very comfortable with him and she trusts him,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“She chose him to direct her video because he’s all about pushing boundaries and making a statement. That’s what Miley’s into right now,” the source adds. “Miley loved the idea of going naked because it suits the song — she’s showing her naked emotions. It’s her vulnerable side and it’s not something she shows very often, so having nudity made sense.”
Speaking of pushing boundaries, it looks like that’s exactly what Miley was doing with this outfit. Even though she replaced her pants with thigh-high boots, if there’s one person that can pull this look off, it’s Miley.
